Afterschool Club
Afterschool club offers quality childcare for your children from 3.00pm-6.00pm Monday to Friday)
Children enjoy a large room, totally independent from the nursery, which provides a superb environment for children to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
We have a range of activities, some of which include: baking, arts and crafts, ICT, sensory room, small world play, construction, role play, sand and water play, puzzles and games. We also have theme days, for example ‘Messy Mondays’ exploring resources in our tuff trays.We also have the use of the nursery playground, hidey hole, adventure play equipment and sport resources.
The ICT area is popular but we limit the children to 15 minutes each as there are so many other fun things to do.... no violent games are allowed.
We encourage the children to interact and have ownership of the weekly planning but will organise games or activities if required.
For those who prefer to have some quiet time, there is our Lego room or the reading den with cushions and story books.
We operate a ‘rolling snack’ where we encourage the children to prepare their own snacks and drinks at any time during the sessions. The setting holds Level 5 Food Hygiene rating and all staff have achieved their Level 2/3 Food Safety (younger children will be given help by staff if needed with preparing their snack).
Positive behaviour is encouraged through the use of club rules (agreed on by the children). We have a weekly group meeting with the children for them to voice their interests and dislikes during their time at the club.
